Looks great man! I ride 2 wheels but would be good to hook up with people off the forum and see what's going on. My mate Paula from carlisle rides 4X, I'll give her a shout and see if she wants to come down on the 8th!

Is the track pictured above at whinlatter?

Cheers

Hi Jamie
Yeh we know Paula cos she comes out riding with us sometimes... and it would be great if you both wanna come to the launch day. I was hoping Paula would bring her bike too, so people can see the machines and talk to some of the riderz!
As for the track, the main photo was taken at Ae Forest mate... and the 2 smaller photos are from Laggan Wolftrax. They are both great trails for experienced fourcross riders, but we wanted to have our party at the venue we are using for Taster Days so people can see whats involved. You never know... we might get more members signing up for a go on the day!
See you there?
Cheers, Phil

Ah nice one, I had a feeling you might know Paula! I'll be hooking up with her tomorrow so will see if she's up for coming down on the 8th wither her bike.

I've heard a lot about AE forest, it's well on my hit list! Seems like Laggan Wolftrax is pretty good too, my dad lives up near there in Newtonmore. Laggan was where I first started school at around 4 yrs old! I really need to get up that end of the UK more often, now I've got the hunger for riding again it's only a short matter of time.

I'm sure Whinlatter will be good fun for the launch, have you had much interest in from people about having a blast on the fourcross steeds?

Cool see ya there!

Hi Jamie!

Yeh it would be great if Paula can come with her rig too! I dunno if Dave can make it and I know quite a lot of people are coming along to see the bikes, and maybe have a test ride the club bike..?

We will have to hook up with you next time we all go up to Ae Forest too if you fancy it? Its my favourite DH venue and well worth a visit... as is Laggan mate, which is my 2nd best place to rip it up!!! Both places have fast trails, with loadsa berms and jumps, etc Thumbs Up

See you on the 8th of August! Dont forget to bring your own booze if you fancy a beer, cos we aint allowed to serve any alcohol with our bbq Unhappy

Hi Phil,

Unfortunatley cant make it today, lost my car keys at kendal Calling festival last week! The car's still in a field in Lowther park, what a mad week I've had trying to sort it out, long story!

Hope you guys have a good day in Whinlatter and I'll keep an eye out for any other things happening. Let me know next time you're off to AE and I'll come up and get introduced. Thumbs Up

Cheers

We had a good day at Whinlatter ta... lots of peeps turned up for it and lots of smiles when they had ridden the club bike!

So... it has now been decided that we (me and Dave) are going to Ae on Thursday (cos the weather doesnt look too bad) and Paula will ring you about it cos shes meeting us up there at the cafe at 10am ok? I hope youve got your car back now! If you can make it then we can all have a good day of DH-ing in bonny Scotland! So we'll see you soon eh..?

Lets get ready to rip down The Shredder!!! Thumbs Up

Nice one Phil, good to hear AE was fun!! Would you believe it still don't have the car, it now needs a new ecu. Hopfully I'll have it back for the next time you're up there!

I'm gettin the bike ready for it anyway, converted to single ring setup with e thirteen chain guide etc. I kept snapping my chain recently lol.. so decided that some modifications were needed! LOL

I've been checkin out youtube footage of AE, it looks pretty sick up there! I do motion graphics and film/editing for a living and would be keen to get some footage of us guys in ae and other locations. I mentioned it to Paula, we should talk about it when we finally get to meet up mate! She mentioned the MTV person who was interested in making a film about you guys, that sounds great, I wouldn't be making anything at that level as there's zero budget at the moment!

Thumbs Up

Jamie

Hi Jamie
Sorry I aint replied for ages but Ive been a bit busy with various club meetingsand paperwork! We have also been track testing at Ft. Bill this week Tongue
Anyway, I dunno if youre free this coming week but we are going up to Ae again on Tuesday (I think) if you fancy it? I dunno if you can get the time off work at such short notice but it would be great if you could come up with Paula!
Im also VERY intersted in your motion graphics and film/editing skills and would love to chat a bit more to you about this at some point... we are also looking for other MTBers to join our committee to help move things forward with the club too, if this is something that might interest you?
Leme know about Ae (or speak to Paula about it) and I'll catch you again soon mate...
Cheers, Phil

Hi Phil!

Ah just read this mail today, can't make it tomorrow mate a  bit short notice hopefully next time eh!! I'm off work Tue & Thur at the moment so in future there should be no probs.

How was Fort Bill? They still doing uplifts at this time of year, I guess it's all good until the snow hits! Thumbs Up

Yeh sure thing I'd be up for getting on board the comittee! Sounds great. let me know next time you're off out on a Tue or Thurs in Cumbria or AE we'll have a good chat about the film stuff too. You guys ever been to Surf N' Turf at Sedgwick? Not sure if it's suitable for the 4wheeled machines or not, good if it is though.

Cheers
J

Hi J - Its a pity you cant make it tomoz mate but it was short notice! If you send me a PM or an email to phil@roughriderz.co.uk with your phone number then I can let you know a bit sooner next time ok?

Ft. Bill was crazy mate! Really good though... the gondola operates all year round but the track is closed to the public now. They invited us up there to do track testing to see if its suitable for us to ride on 4 wheels. We had a couple of peeps escorting us down, and with a few minor tweaks in the spring we should be able to ride it all next year Thumbs Up which would be awesome (and scary).

We've been to Surf the Turf a few times too... I reckon its a good place for sessioning stuff but it was still unfinished last time we visited. Gonna keep in touch with Markus though and we'll be up there again next summer when its not such a "mud fest" lol.

Great to hear you might be interested in joining the Committee too mate. You could be an ideal candidate to be our Media Co-Ordinator! We'll defo have to meet up soon and have a chat about that and possible film projects too... speak to you soon!

Cheers, Phil
