Alright everyone!
I've just recently joined the forum, it looks great and there seems to be a good mix of people here. Originally from Lancaster I got into riding when I was about 14 back in 1994 and become very much addicted, grew up on the classic Dirt video with Jason McRoy etc. Unfortunatley I lost touch with things over the years, moved around a lot went to Uni then moved down south, did a bit of street riding in London during 2004/05 on a specialized P1 and then lost touch again for another few years!! Oh dear. Well I'm glad to say moved back up north to Kendal in 2008, got a 2 year old son now (potential rider!!) last year bought a cheap Haro X6 and have fully got back on track with riding. I'm looking to meet up with like minded people in the lakes and north lancs area to hit some quality downhill/freeride trails, have a laugh and generally enjoy the sport. Hopefully see y'all at the launch party! Jamie |

Sounds great man, looking forward to the launch day and also to be heading up to Whinlatter for the first time! Do you guys ever go to scratchmere scar, or is that more for 2 wheeled machines?
See you on the 8th ![]() |

Yeh we've been up to Scratchmere once... we went to check out plans to extend the site to include a more four wheeled friendly route, but I think funding was an issue so it never happened!
Bit of a shame cos the site has real potential for some good DH trails... but it always comes down to money in the end eh?
We'd love to ride the DH track thats already there, but its a bit too "hardcore" for four wheels!
Check out my previous posts about the venue @ http://www.themtbforum.com/scratchmere-scar_topic284.html

That's sh*t about the funding, maybe once we're out of the old recession there might be scope to apply again. It would be great to get that place turned around into a full on bike park style facility for both 4 and 2 wheels.
Yeh I saw your Scratchmere post when I first found this forum, good stuff! It does look good there especially for a local venue, there's some decent vids kicking about of riders using it to the fullest!...http://www.pinkbike.com/video/69302/ I think I'll be needing quite a bit of practice to shred the trails like Adam there! |

Yeh its a pretty mental DH trail eh? Maybe get some practise in on simpler routes before you try tackling something that gnarly and fast!
We are still hoping that it will become a 4 wheeled friendly venue at some point too... cos its the ideal location for us and the terrain means they could build us an awesome trail if we had the cash!
See you on the 8th mate...
